DU LLB Admission 2023: The Delhi High Court has been notified by the Central government that the CUET is not required for admission to Central Universities. DU LLB Admission Criteria Based on CLAT UG is currently being challenged in the Delhi High Court. Central Universities can have autonomy in the admissions process, according to the Center's response, which was presented before a division bench consisting of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Sanjeev Narula.

This year, Delhi University created 5-year LLB programs and announced that admissions would only be based on CLAT UG 2023 results. Prince Singh, a student at Delhi University's Faculty of Law, filed a complaint against the 5-year LLB admission requirements with the Delhi High Court.

The University Grants Commission asserted that it is required for all Central Universities to give admissions based on CUET scores, in contrast to the Center's position.

The Central government and UGC have been given a week by the Delhi High Court to file a response affidavit in the case. Additionally, DU has been requested to submit an additional rebuttal affidavit if it so chooses. On September 12, there will be a hearing on the case.

In the prior hearing, Delhi HC informed DU that granting admission based on CLAT scores was not "special." The HC questioned the 5-year LLB admission standards at Delhi University that were based on CLAT results. The HC claimed that DU is not "special" because other Central Universities offer undergraduate and graduate admissions based on CUET results.

The introduction of the Bachelor of Arts-LLB and the Bachelor of Business Administration/Bachelor of Commerce-LLB programs was approved by the Delhi University Executive Council and Academic Council.

DU established two five-year LLB programs. The Bar Council of India gave its approval, and on August 5 DU released a notification. The University of Delhi's Faculty of Law will oversee the admissions procedure.
