DUSU Elections 2025: The Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections to be conducted today on September 18, 2025. According to several reports, more than 2.75 lakh students are expected to take part in the voting process. The election is being conducted between ABVP, NSUI, and SFI-AISA as the major participants. There will be new security arrangements as well as malpractice in the election process is prohibited. This time the voting procedures are expected to be more regulated. This is one of the biggest student elections held in the country. 

As per the official notification, polling will be conducted in two different shifts, first shift will take place 8:30 am to 1:00 pm for day classes whereas the second shift will take place from 3:00 pm to 7:30 pm for evening classes. The counting of votes will take place on Friday, September 19, 2025.

DUSU Elections 2025: Eligibility Rules

According to the notification, the students will be required to show their valid ID cards and proofs. The second- and third-year students will be required to show their official college ID cards, whereas the first-year students who do not have the ID card can vote in the election with a fee receipt or any government-issued identity proof (Voter ID, Aadhaar, PAN, or Driving License) in the Delhi University Elections.

In the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections, voting for the four central panel positions, president, vice president, secretary, and joint secretary, will take place on the electronic voting machines (EVMs), whereas the college-level voting will still take place on  ballot papers.

Who Are the Main Contenders:

The election process for the president's post has three major contestants:

1.ABVP (affiliated with the RSS)

2. NSUI (backed by the Congress)

3. SFI-AISA alliance (supported by Left groups)

Each group and candidate has promised new reforms, inclusivity, and student welfare in their manifestos. 

DUSU Elections 2025: Tight Security 

To ensure smooth polling and voting process in the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections, more than 600 police personnel will be stationed across the campuses. Out of these, 160 officers will use body-worn cameras to ensure safety. In addition, there are CCTV cameras and drones that will closely monitor activities on voting day.

The Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections often set the tone and path for youth politics in Delhi and beyond. With a high number of students that are eligible to vote and strong female candidates contesting after nearly two decades, make it an important election.
