JE Education Desk: To aid test takers in preparing for the updated and condensed version of the exam, the Educational Testing Service (ETS), which is in charge of administering the TOEFL English testing exam, has released a new app.

The TOEFL Go test, accessible on both mobile and desktop devices, offers four thorough portions as well as individualized feedback and coaching.

The app offers some benefits, including digital practice and performance feedback for each of the four test sections (Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing), AI-powered scoring based on the same scoring criteria as the TOEFL iBT test, and helpful coaching and tips to improve performance in the speaking and writing sections.

Additionally, it provides advanced model replies for speaking and writing, enabling users to assess and evaluate their own performance.

“We know how invaluable free and accessible test prep is to test takers and are confident that they will find this newest option to be a staple in their prep process,” said Rohit Sharma, SVP of Global Higher Education and Workskills, ETS.

“TOEFL Go! will help global learners get one step closer toward achieving their educational and professional goals,” he added.

“As the shorter TOEFL iBT test goes live on July 26, test takers registering for the same can now prepare themselves better using the AI powered TOEFL Go app. Indian test takers can gain valuable feedback and coaching on the new format and familiarise themselves with the shortest English language proficiency test,” Sachin Jain, Country Manager, ETS India and South Asia, said.

Among the several free exam preparation tools provided by ETS, TOEFL Go! is the newest. For the new Writing for an Academic Discussion activity, test takers can access dozens of practice questions, or they can check out ETS's latest partnership with Preply® for private instruction from a certified, independent tutor.

ETS, the company that administers the TOEFL and GRE, made several announcements last month to improve the applicant testing experience.

From July 26, these modifications will be in force. The TOEFL test will now take less than two hours to complete as opposed to the prior three-hour timeframe thanks to these modifications. Candidates will also be given their official score release date after the test.

More than 12,000 universities in more than 160 countries accept the TOEFL score. Over 98 per cent of UK universities accept it, and it is universally recognized in well-known study locations like the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
