JE Education Desk: Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh stated that the institution is prepared to assist Manipur violence-affected students while speaking at a conference on the completion of three years of NEP 2020.

Since May, ethnic tensions between the Meitei and Kuki communities have been present in Manipur. Since the outbreak of ethnic violence in the state, more than 150 people have died and numerous others have been hurt.

The Vice-Chancellor stated that the entire nation knows Manipur's troubles and is prepared to offer all feasible assistance to all such resentful students in answer to a question about the University of Delhi's plans for students from Manipur's areas that have experienced violence.

The Vice-Chancellor added: “If any student has any problem then he can contact DU administration. We are ready to help in any way. If there is a need to make some provisions separately, the university will try to make them.”

The VC noted the accomplishments of NEP 2020 after three years, noting that DU had taken the initiative to implement it first in the nation. The Undergraduate Curriculum Framework 2022 (UGCF) was used by the institution to implement NEP 2020 at the undergraduate level beginning with the 2022–2023 academic year.

He explained that UGCF 2022 has been planned so that students have the freedom to choose their academic path while using an interdisciplinary approach.

Singh stated that it offers a comprehensive and skill-based education with a focus on research and innovation. Its goal is to foster critical and imaginative thinking. Provisions for internships, apprenticeships, projects, and community engagement are included in UGCF 2022.
