GATE 2026 Objection Window Date:  The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati will soon open the objection window at gate2026.iitg.ac.in. This will allow candidates to submit their objections against the provisional answer key, released earlier. The GATE objection window will open for a limited period of time; therefore, candidates must submit their responses as early as possible. GATE 2026 was held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026.

GATE 2026 Objection Window: Steps To Raise Objections

Candidates have to log in to the GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System) portal and submit their challenges. Here are the steps.

Step 1: Go to the official website at gate2026.iitg.ac.in.

Step 2: Click on the GOAPS portal and enter your Enrollment ID/Email ID and Password to sign in. 

Step 3: Select the “Answer Key Challenge/Objection Window” link.

Step 4: Choose the question ID you want to challenge.

Step 5: Upload supporting documents in PDF format. 

Step 6: Pay the objection fee and submit the request.

GATE 2026 Objection Window: Fee & Payment Details

For each objection raised, candidates have to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 500 per question. The payment has to be made through online payment modes such as Net-banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI methods. The fee will be refunded to the concerned candidates if the challenge or objection is upheld by the subject experts. 

GATE 2026 Objection Window: Important Points

Some key pointers related to the GATE objection window are as follows.

1. MSQ and NAT Marking

Select only the correct options while raising objections. Many candidates challenge Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) based on partial correctness. No particle marking exists for MSQs. Challenges based on partial marking will be dismissed immediately.

2. Marks to All (MTA)

If the subject experts find a particular question to be technically flawed (e.g., no correct answer among the options), they will be declared as Marks to All (MTA). In such cases, all those who have attempted that question will be awarded marks, ensuring fairness among candidates.
