Bomb Threats In Ambala:  On Monday, several private schools in Ambala, Haryana, received bomb threats, prompting the Haryana Police to conduct extensive security checks on the campuses. 

A major scare erupted in Ambala on Monday morning when prominent schools in the city received threatening emails about a bomb threat. The threatening email was sent around 8:22 AM, creating an atmosphere of fear among school administration, students, and parents. The police and security agencies were immediately alerted and action was taken without delay.

Which schools received bomb threats?

So far, the names of SA Jain School in Ambala City, Police DAV Riverside School, and Central School Number 1 in Ambala Cantt have surfaced. Information has also emerged that some other schools have received similar emails. An operation was launched based on the information received.

Ms. Seema Dutt, the principal of Riverside DAV Public School in Ambala Cantt, said that she received the threatening email at 8:22 am. The police were immediately informed. The police and security team searched the entire school premises, but no suspicious object has been found so far. The administration fully cooperated with the police, keeping in mind the safety of the children.

"We informed the police after receiving an anonymous email. Police personnel arrived here; we are on alert. A total of three schools received this email," Dutt said.

Will the schools be closed or not?

Even after this incident, no official decision has been taken regarding the closure of the schools. The administration and school management are keeping a close watch on the situation. Police officials say that initial investigations suggest that it might be the work of some mischievous element, but no risks are being taken from a security point of view.

Meanwhile, security has also been tightened at Central School Number 1 located in the Cantonment area after the bomb threat. Army personnel have been deployed outside the school. The search operation included classrooms, playgrounds, and even the school hostel. Security has been increased throughout the area. Police say the matter is under investigation and efforts are being made to identify the sender of the email. Security arrangements have been strengthened everywhere, and the situation is reported to be completely under control.

Delhi Schools Also Faced Similar Threats Last Month

Earlier, multiple schools in Delhi received a bomb threat via email on December 10. The schools immediately issued a notice to parents to collect their students as a precaution. The notice outlined the phased dispersal of students to closely monitor and manage the situation without causing panic among students and parents.

Delhi Police confirmed that the threat emails were received by both institutions around the same time. Multiple police teams, along with the bomb disposal squad and sniffer dogs, were deployed at the sites.

However, no suspicious object has been found during the searches, officials said.
