PUNE School Holiday Schedule:  The Pune District Administration has announced a school holiday on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, for institutions located along the Pune Grand Tour 2026 cycling route. The decision aims to ensure smooth traffic movement and public safety during the international event. District Collector Jitendra Dudi issued the order under the Disaster Management Act, 2005. The closure applies to government and private schools across Hinjawadi, rural stretches, and Pimpri Chinchwad areas falling on the race route.

Why will schools be closed for the event?

Schools will be closed on January 20, 2026, as large-scale traffic diversions, road restrictions, and crowd movement are expected during the international Pune Grand Tour 2026 cycling race, making regular commuting unsafe and inconvenient for students and parents.

All government and private schools located along the race route starting from Hinjawadi Phase-3, passing through rural villages, and entering Pimpri Chinchwad city limits will remain closed on January 20.

The official school closure order was issued by Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi, directing the Education Department and local authorities to implement the decision immediately to avoid confusion and inconvenience.
