Here are the key points of Academic Experts
While talking about modern ed-tech tools and technologies Mr. Aarul Malavaiya, Founder of Zamit said, “Just as the AI-based terminators in the movies continued to hold sway and indeed shape the plot overcoming all hurdles that came their way for most of the duration, a student when taught with modern edtech tools and technologies by a teacher who is proficient in those tools and technologies can become an absolute conqueror and winner."
“With the occasion, when the minister spoke, setting the stage for a partnership between a tech giant and ministries of education and skill development and entrepreneurship, the minister has rightly sought to establish a link between education, skilling and entrepreneurship, a much-needed imperative today from the standpoint of students,” further added.
Monica Malhotra Kandhari, Managing Director, Aasoka emphasis that the Education Minister has aptly defined students as 'terminators' in an era where technology is advancing at an extraordinary pace. India’s educational landscape is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by the powerful convergence of technology and educators. The 'Education to Entrepreneurship' partnership, which brings together the Union Ministry of Education, the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Meta, demonstrates a momentous step towards unlocking the full potential of Indian students and preparing them to become the architects of the future.
“What truly stands out in this lucrative partnership is the introduction of the AVGC-XR-AI diploma course in AICTE-affiliated colleges for equipping approximately 100,000 students and 20,000 educators with proficiency in AR, VR, AI, and XR technologies. This bold initiative aligns perfectly with NEP 2020 that aims at preparing Indian youth for a dynamic, AI-infused world, besides positioning them as leaders in emerging fields,” Kandhari added.
While talking about the Education to Entrepreneurship partnership Sujata Kshirsagar, President and chief business officer, of Career Launcher said, "Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan has rightly emphasised that the convergence of technology and educators has the potential to transform students into terminators. The recently launched 'Education to Entrepreneurship' partnership between the Union Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Meta represents a solid stride towards realizing this potential.”
Dr Prem Das Maheshwari, Business Director for South Asia at D2L shares that the recent statement by Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education, underscores the incredible potential of merging technology and education to empower our students for a future defined by innovation and progress. For D2L and educators alike, this collaborative synergy holds immense promise for our students, coming at a pivotal moment in alignment with the visionary National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020.
“The NEP rightly acknowledges the urgency of preparing students for a rapidly evolving world. The amalgamation of technology and education offers a unique opportunity for educators to bridge performance and achievement gaps, ensuring that all students within a specific course attain a minimum level of competency. Furthermore, it equips students with discipline-based modes of thinking and enables them to apply discipline-specific skills,” Maheshwari said.
“By integrating technology into education, we expand students' horizons, enabling learners to engage in inquiry, investigation, and active learning. This approach keeps students engaged and on a path of continuous improvement, aligning perfectly with the educational goals set forth by the NEP. Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's announcement highlights the transformative potential of technology and teachers working hand-in-hand, shaping our students into future leaders capable of thriving in a dynamic and ever-changing world,” he added.
