JEE Advanced 2024 Exam: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras will hold the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2024 tomorrow, May 26. The entrance exam for engineering, architecture, and other disciplines at IITs will be computer-based.

The best 2.5 lakh applicants who passed the JEE Main 2024 exam will sit for the JEE Advanced. The majority of the aspirants are apparently from Uttar Pradesh, followed by Maharashtra and Telangana.

JEE Advanced 2024: Exam pattern

JEE Advanced 2024 is a computer-based test consisting of two papers. The duration of each paper is three hours. The first paper will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., while the second paper will be held from 2:30 p.m.

Both papers of JEE Advanced 2024 include mathematics, physics, and chemistry. There will be multiple-choice questions, numerical response questions, and matching-type questions. For multiple-choice questions, applicants must choose the correct answer from the possibilities provided. For numerical answer questions, a specific number must be provided. Matching-type questions require an item from one list to be matched with an item from another.

The scoring for the various question types is as follows.

- Questions with several choices and only one correct answer. - A correct answer earns four points, while an incorrect answer loses two points.

- Multiple-choice questions with valid answers - A correct answer earns three points, while an inaccurate answer loses one point.

- Questions that require numerical answers (decimals) - A right response receives four points, with no points deducted for incorrect answers.

- Matching style questions - three points for a correct answer, no negative marking.
