JEE Main 2024: The Ministry of Education has released a notification detailing the Board's restructuring and administrative framework governing the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Apex Board (JAB). This board is tasked with the responsibility of overseeing the JEE, which serves as the entrance examination for undergraduate engineering programs in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).
According to the notification, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is designated to manage all technology-related aspects, particularly software support. When it comes to various behind-the-scenes responsibilities, including pre and post-examination activities and online application submissions, the NTA may seek help from the Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) as required.
The competent authority has directed the reformation of the JEE Apex Board (JAB) with the aim of ensuring the smooth administration of the JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) Entrance Examinations for the years 2024 and 2025.
JEE Apex Board Reconstitution: Important Points
- The ultimate authority for establishing policies, rules, and regulations for conducting the JEE Main exam and collaborating with the organising institution of JEE (Advanced) lies with the JEE Apex Board.
- The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be responsible for providing administrative and logistical support for the nationwide execution of the JEE (Main) exam.
- The oversight of the administration of JEE Advanced will continue to be under the purview of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) within the IIT system.
- Information technology-related (software) support and backend assistance for pre and post-examination activities, including online application form submissions, will be offered information by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC).
- The transparency processes established by the IT system for both JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) will be maintained.
