JEE Main 2026 Exam:  The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct Session 1 of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main from January 21. The exam will be held in two shifts and will continue until January 29. The first shift of the JEE Main 2026 January session exam will begin at 9:00 AM and end at 12:00 PM, while the second shift will start at 3:00 PM and conclude at 6:00 PM.

After taking the engineering entrance test and downloading their JEE Main admit card, candidates must verify the exam date, shift, time, exam venue, reporting time at the center, and the center gate closing time on their JEE Main 2026 hall ticket.

JEE Main January 2026: What are the timings for JEE Main 2026?

The first shift of the JEE Main 2026 January session exam will begin at 9:00 AM and end at 12:00 PM, while the second shift will begin at 3:00 PM and end at 6:00 PM.

What documents are required in the examination hall?

In addition to the JEE Main admit card, candidates must carry at least two passport-size photographs. One passport-size photograph, which was uploaded with the online application form, must be affixed to the attendance sheet at the center. Candidates can access and download their JEE Main January session hall tickets from the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Candidates were given the option to register through Aadhaar. Candidates who did not register through Aadhaar or chose the non-Aadhaar authentication option must report early on the day of the exam, at least one hour before the gate closing time, so that their biometrics can be recorded at the examination center.

JEE Main January 2026: What papers will be held on Jan 21?

NTA will conduct Paper 1 of JEE Main on January 21, 2026. Paper 1 is the BTech or the BE paper. It will comprise two sections- A and B. The JEE Main Section A contains 20 questions for each subject – physics, chemistry, and maths- and JEE Main Section B will comprise five questions.
