JEE Main 2024: Nilkrishna Gajare, a farmer's kid from Maharashtra's Washim district, has achieved All India Rank 1 in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains with persistence and hard work over the last two years. On Thursday, the National Testing Agency released the results of the JEE Mains exam.
Originating from the isolated town of Belkhed in Washim, Nilkrishna had a strict routine, spending almost ten hours a day preparing for tests.
Nirmal Gajare, the father of Nilkrishna, told PTI over the phone that he was speechless with joy over his son's achievement.
According to him, Nilkrishna resided with his aunt while completing his elementary education at Rajeshwar Convent in Akola and J C High School at Karanja Lad in Washim.
"Nilkrishna has always been a brilliant student and was good at sports. He participated in the district and national level tournaments in archery," Nirmal Gajare said.
"I wanted him to do well in studies and life and motivated him. I want him to achieve things I never could," Gajare added.
At Shree Dnyaneshwar Maskuji Burungale Science and Arts College in Shegaon, the 19-year-old is continuing his education.
According to Gajare, Nilkrishna wakes up around four in the morning, studies for two hours, performs "pranayam" (breathing exercises), begins studying again at eight-thirty, and goes to bed at ten thirty.
Additionally, he stated that Nilkrishna aspires to enrol at IIT Bombay and pursue a career in science.
Nilkrishna has overcome one obstacle to realize his objective and is currently at Shegaon getting ready for JEE-Advanced, which is held next month.
