Kerala Schools Bagless Days: Under a new initiative by the Kerala government, children may no longer need to carry heavy backpacks to school for at least four days a month. In response to increasing concerns about the weight of school bags, the state government is considering various measures to address the issues raised by children and parents, according to General Education Minister V Sivankutty.
The government will soon make a decision regarding the issue of heavy school bags for students from Class 1 to 12 in the state, V Sivankutty stated on Friday, as reported by news agency PTI. He noted that numerous complaints and suggestions from parents and those who love the public education system have been received.
Sivankutty mentioned that textbooks are being printed and distributed in two parts to help reduce the burden on students. However, despite this effort, there are still complaints that school bags remain too heavy, the minister noted.
