MAH B.BCA, BBA, BMS, BBM CET 2024: The State Common Entrance Test (CET) cell, Maharashtra is all set to conduct the MAH BCA, BBA, BMS, BBM CET 2024 for admission to BCA, BBA, BMS, and BBM programmes for the academic session 2024-25. The examination will held on May 29, 2024. It will witness the beginning of a new era for aspiring students who wish to secure admission to their dream college. The traditional method of getting admission on the basis of Class XII or equivalent marks will make way for CET, which is mandatory for everyone seeking admission to B.BCA, BBA, BMS, and BBM courses.
The announcement has also brought an air of nervousness and anxiety among the students appearing for the CET, as the exam date is fast approaching. However, there is nothing to worry about or panic. Here are some essential preparation tips provided by Dr. Minu Madlani, Principal, K.P.B. Hinduja College of Commerce and Economics, that will help students overcome their stress and ace the CET.
1. Understand the Exam Pattern and Syllabus
This is one of the most critical steps in preparing for the CET, which tests students' knowledge across various domains relevant to their chosen field. Familiarise themselves with the types of questions, marking schemes, and the distribution of topics. This understanding will help students allocate their time efficiently and prioritise their syllabus, which includes English Language, Reasoning (verbal and arithmetic), General Knowledge and Awareness and Computer Basics.
2. Create a Realistic Study Schedule
Given the limited time left, it is crucial to break down the syllabus into manageable sections and assign specific time slots for each topic. Prioritise topics based on their weightage in the exam and students' current proficiency. Ensure that students' schedules include regular breaks to avoid burnout and maintain productivity.
3. Utilise Mock Tests and Practice Papers
This is one of the most effective ways to prepare for the CET. Practice exams simulate the actual test environment, helping students gauge their preparation level and identify areas for improvement. Focus on time management during these tests, as completing the exam within the allotted time is crucial.
4. Get an Edge Over the Competition
Other than thoroughly completing the section on Computer Basics, which is the need of the current industry demand, one should remember that the syllabus of the CET includes general awareness topics such as culture, current national, international affairs, trade & commerce, sports, scientific inventions and discoveries. So, make it a habit to read newspapers and follow reliable news websites. Being well-versed in recent events can give students an edge in these sections and contribute to their overall score.
5. Revise Strategically
Revision helps students retain and reinforce their knowledge. Focus on revising key concepts, formulas, and definitions. Create summary notes or flashcards for quick revisions and regularly review them. Avoid cramming new topics at the last minute, which can lead to confusion and increased stress.
6. Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle
Students' physical and mental well-being significantly impacts their exam performance. Ensure students get adequate sleep, eat nutritious meals, and stay hydrated. Incorporating regular exercise and relaxation techniques, such as meditation or deep breathing, can help reduce stress and improve concentration.
Conclusion
All students must remain positive, confident, calm, and composed during preparation and on exam day. Remember, this exam is just one step in students' academic journey, and with the right mindset and effort, they can overcome any challenge.
