Maharashtra School Holiday (Dec 6): The schools in Maharashtra are likely to declare a school holiday on December 6, 2026, because of the ongoing strike conducted by teachers and principals in the state. Students are expected to have a holiday tomorrow also but as of now there is no official update on school closure for tomorrow. A meeting recently took place in Pune regarding this, and the association has made it clear that a march will be held on that day.
Teachers and Principals are on strike against the forced rules applied by the government. Since the demands have not yet been made, the protest, which started on December 5, 2025, might continue. Out of the 25,000 schools, around 18,000 schools for grades 9 and 10 remained completely suspended because of a state-wide teachers strike. Although it did not have much impact in Mumbai.

As of now, there is no official school closure updated for Maharashtra schools due to heavy rainfall, state-wide strike conducted by teachers, and IMD alerts. Kerala has announced school holidays on December 9 and December 11 due to local body elections. The Meghalaya government has announced a school holiday for December 12, 2025 for all private and government schools.
