Manipur Schools Reopen: Following a shutdown in schools spanning two entire months due to the ongoing ethnic unrest, educational institutions in Manipur are set to reopen for students for classes 9 to 12 starting from August 10 onwards.

In this regard, the Directorate asked all Zonal Education Officers to inform all concerned and take up necessary actions accordingly. “All Zonal Education Officers under the Department of Education, Schools Manipur are hereby directed to inform all concerned and take up necessary actions accordingly,” said Director L Nandakumar Singh of the Directorate of Education (Schools) in an order on Monday.

According to the notification, there are 1229 schools in Manipur having Class IX to XII run by different managements. The above order for the resumption of schools will not be applicable to 28 schools that are currently involved in relief measures, etc.

“Separate order for resumption of these schools will be issued later. Adequate compulsory measures will be taken up for the students of these schools so as to prevent any learning loss,” further added.
