NEET 2026 Re-exam 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially responded to a viral social media alert on X (formerly Twitter) alleging that illicit NEET 2026 re-examination question papers are being sold through encrypted Telegram networks. The prompt intervention followed a tip-off from an alert student who tagged both the @NTA_Exams handle and @Cyberdost the Union Home Ministry’s cyber safety handle. The informant provided links to three distinct group portals, highlighting that a single cyber-operator was coordinating the entire digital black market operation.

In direct response to the community-led report, the NTA declared that the malicious digital links have been officially turned over to the Cybercrime department for immediate forensic verification and legal action.

This digital enforcement comes at a time when national entrance examination protocols are under immense scrutiny following the full cancellation of the original NEET UG 2026 exam. The massive medical entrance test, which originally took place on May 3, 2026, saw an unprecedented turnout of approximately 2.28 million prospective candidates across more than 5,000 pan-India testing venues.

However, the subsequent emergence of credible, widespread question paper breach allegations forced a total cancellation, throwing the academic calendars of medical aspirants nationwide into absolute disarray and creating fertile ground for digital scammers to exploit desperate students through counterfeit re-exam paper networks.

NEET UG 2026 Exam: CBI Takes Over Medical Leak Case

Following the massive public outcry over the compromised May 3 examination, the Union Ministry of Education officially handed over the entire administrative and criminal investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Federal investigators are presently tracking down localized cheating rings, institutional paper supply-chain flaws, and technical server vulnerabilities. 

The specialised agency is currently conducting multi-state raids to uncover the root source of the original operational breach, making the monitoring of new online scams even more critical.

Supreme Court Demands Comprehensive Examination Security Rehauls

The recurring allegations of paper compromises have also drawn severe criticism from the Supreme Court of India. The apex court has questioned the foundational stability of the current national testing matrix, expressing deep anxiety over how repeated structural leaks affect the mental well-being of young students. 

The bench has demanded a formal accountability roadmap from central agencies, emphasising that the sanctity of national competitive examinations must be maintained at all costs to protect meritorious applicants.

The Historical Pattern of Paper Leak Controversies in National Medical Exams

The ongoing 2026 crisis reflects a troubling trend of examination security breaches that have periodically impacted the medical entrance system over the past decade. Legal experts note that this is not an isolated incident:

The 2015 Pre-Medical Controversy: Over a decade ago, widespread reports of paper leaks led to intense legal battles, forcing a complete re-examination under the old AIPMT system.

The 2024 Systemic Crisis: Just two years prior, the medical exam system faced severe public distrust due to organized cheating networks, mismatched grace-mark distributions, and widespread institutional discrepancies that triggered massive student-led protests across India.
