NEET PG Counselling 2023: To fill the remaining postgraduate medical seats, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced a special stray vacancy round for NEET PG counselling in 2023. As planned, tomorrow, November 17, 2023, is when registration for special counselling through the National Eligibility Entrance Test for Postgraduate will open.
On the official website, mcc.nic.in, interested and qualified individuals can apply for the special stray vacancy round. November 22 is the deadline for registering for this round. The window of opportunity for applicants to fill and lock options is November 18–22.
Candidates who have been assigned a seat must report to their designated institutes between November 25 and November 30. The seat allocation outcome will be announced on November 24.
“All the NEET PG 2023 eligible candidates are hereby informed that to prevent wastage of precious medical seats, MoHFW has decided to conduct a Special Stray Vacancy Round for the vacant MD/ MS/ Diploma/ MDS Seats of AIQ and State Quota. It is pertinent to mention that this Special Stray Vacancy Round will be the last round for postgraduate courses for this academic year i.e. 2023,” said MCC in an official notice.
NEET PG Counselling 2023: Eligibility Criteria
The following are the requirements for eligibility in this round:
- Candidates who do not currently hold a seat in the state or All India Quota are eligible to run. Candidates who did not claim the seats they were allocated in the MCC round three and beyond, however, are "Not Eligible" to run.
- Candidates who fail to claim their designated seat in this round will forfeit their security deposit and will not be allowed to retake the NEET exam the following year.

- States will receive access to the data of the candidates selected for the special stray vacancy round, and candidates selected by the MCC will not be permitted to apply for state counselling seats.
- There is no upgrade round in this round. Candidates who joined during previous rounds won't be eligible to upgrade.

- Fresh registration, payment: November 17, 2023 to November 22, 2023
- Choice-filling and choice-locking: November 18, 2023 to November 22, 2023
- Processing of seat allotment: November 23, 2023 to November 24, 2023
- Publication of result: November 24, 2023
- Reporting at allotted college: November 25, 2023 to November 30, 2023
