NEET UG 2024 Controversy: In response to a video circulating on social media where a student alleged discrepancies in NEET (UG) 2024 scoring and claimed to have received a torn OMR Answer Sheet, the National Testing Agency (NTA) clarified on Monday that no torn OMR Answer Sheet was sent through any official NTA ID.

"Regarding the viral video featuring Ms Ayushi Patel, claiming discrepancies in NEET (UG) 2024 scoring and receiving a torn OMR Answer Sheet, NTA clarifies that no torn OMR Answer Sheet was sent via an official NTA ID," reads the NTA notification.

In a viral video, the student stated that she did not receive her NEET UG 2024 results, which were announced on June 8. Instead, she received an email from the NTA indicating that her results could not be displayed. Following this, the student and her parents replied to the email, requesting to see her OMR sheet. In a video, the student said that she received images of torn sheets and, after calculating her score, expects it to be 715. The student has filed a petition with the Lucknow High Court regarding the discrepancy, with a hearing scheduled for June 11.

The NTA recently announced that the education ministry has established a four-member committee to assess the grace marks awarded to more than 1,500 candidates in the NEET 2024 results. The medical entrance exam results stirred controversy when 67 students attained the top rank, with several candidates alleging 'irregularities,' which the NTA has refuted.
