NEET-UG Center-Wise Results 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the city- and centre-wise results of the NEET-UG medical entrance exam on Saturday, which is under scrutiny for alleged irregularities, including paper leak. Data analysis shows that while candidates who allegedly benefited from the paper leak and other irregularities did not perform well, some centers have a high concentration of well-performing students.
NTA officials did not respond to inquiries about the high concentration of well-performing students at certain centers.
The voluminous result data for over 32 lakh candidates from 4,750 centers was not provided in a cumulative format but rather through a drop-down menu for each individual center. This release was directed by the Supreme Court, which is currently reviewing multiple petitions concerning alleged irregularities, as lakhs of aspirants await the final verdict on the exam's outcome.
The performance of candidates from centers under scrutiny, such as Oasis School in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand; Hardayal Public School in Jhajjar, Haryana; and Jay Jalaram International School in Godhra, Gujarat, was comparatively below par, as reported by news agency PTI.
An analysis of the data released by the NTA reveals that some centers have a high concentration of high scorers. For instance, at the School of Engineering, RK University, in Rajkot, Gujarat, more than 240 candidates scored above 600 marks, with 12 of them scoring over 700 out of 720 marks.
Similarly, at the Mangal Chand Didwaniya Vidya Mandir center in Sikar, Rajasthan, four students scored more than 700 marks, 45 scored above 650, and 115 students scored above 600 marks. At another center in Sikar, Aravali Public School, 90 students scored over 600 marks. Sikar is emerging as a notable coaching hub for NEET-UG.
At another center in Sikar, 83 candidates scored above 600 but below 700. Out of more than 27,000 candidates who appeared at exam centers in Sikar, over 4,200 scored above 600, and more than 2,000 scored above 450.
In total, 30,204 students scored 650 or above, representing 1.3 percent of the 23.22 lakh candidates nationwide. Moreover, over 79,500 candidates scored above 600.
These candidates are likely to rank within the top 30,000 and have a chance at securing seats in government medical colleges. Among them, examinees from Sikar alone have the opportunity to claim 2,037 seats.
At the Model School center in Rohtak, Haryana, 45 candidates scored more than 600 marks. Similarly, at the SDSN Mahavidyalaya center in Lucknow, over 45 candidates scored above 600 marks. However, the scores of these students at both centers did not exceed the 700-mark.
In the revised results for the Hardayal Public School center in Jhajjar, Haryana, no NEET-UG candidate scored above 682. This center was under scrutiny after six aspirants who took the exam there on May 5 achieved a perfect score of 720 out of 720.

In Patna, Bihar, at the AN College center, 29 students scored above 650. At Holy Mission Secondary School, 21 students achieved scores above 650, and two students secured 700 marks.
However, the scores of candidates from centers where anomalies were previously reported remained low. For instance, the principal of Oasis School in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, has been arrested in connection with the NEET exam. Only five out of 701 candidates at this center (0.71 percent) ranked in the top one percent, which is comparable to the overall success rate of 0.66 percent for Hazaribagh.
The scores were revised after the Supreme Court ordered a retest due to allegations of inflated marks from grace being awarded. At the center, only 13 candidates managed to score more than 600 marks.
