NEET UG Counselling 2026: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to announce the NEET UG counselling notification and schedule soon. Candidates who have successfully cleared their NEET UG 2026 examination are eligible to apply for the All India Quota counselling process, with confirmation of the schedule and key dates expected on the official portal in the coming days.

The NEET UG 2026 counselling process is conducted for admissions to MBBS/BDS courses under All India Quota seats, Institutional Quota, Domicile seats of Central Universities, ESIC-insured persons' wards, and Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. Eligible candidates must register through the official website and fill in their choices for seat allotment once the link goes live.

NEET UG 2026: Key Result Statistics

How Many Rounds Of Counselling Will Be Held?

NEET UG Counselling 2026 will be conducted in three rounds, followed by spot admission and stray vacancy rounds to fill remaining seats. After every counselling allotment, candidates wishing to participate in the next round must complete fresh registrations and enter new choices, which will be considered based on seat availability under each category.

MCC will issue an updated seat matrix after each round for candidates to refer to while entering choices for the subsequent round.

Category-Wise Qualified Candidates 2026:

As per the latest data, the number of General category candidates who qualified stood at 2.91 lakh, followed by OBC-NCL at 5.12 lakh, SC at 1.59 lakh, ST at 63,716, and Gen-EWS at 95,026.

Additionally, 3,666 candidates under the PwBD category and 303 under PwD also qualified, reflecting the overall spread of successful candidates across reserved categories this year.

Notification On Fabricated OMR Sheet Claims

According to a notification issued by NTA, several representations were received from candidates alleging that their uploaded OMR sheets did not belong to them or showed fewer answers than claimed. NTA clarified that the genuine OMR sheet on record, bearing the correct Roll Number, Test Booklet Number, barcode, and invigilator signatures, is fully consistent with the declared score and official answer key.

Any image submitted by candidates that does not match these records has, on forensic examination, been found to be a fabricated document.

Timeline For Result Announcement

The NEET 2026 exam was conducted on June 21, 2026, with the provisional answer key published on June 25 and the challenge window open till June 28. Scanned OMR sheets and recorded responses were displayed to candidates between July 13 and 15, followed by the final answer key and result declaration, both on July 16, 2026.

Candidates can visit the official website to download their scorecard, which remains a mandatory document for counselling document verification and admission purposes.
