IBPS PO Prelims Result 2026: The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will soon release the PO Preliminary 2026 Result on its official website. Once out, candidates can download the scorecard PDF from ibps.in using their registration number and password. The PO/MT Preliminary Examination 2026 was held on August 22 and 23, 2026, in CBT mode at several test centres across the country. Those who qualify will be eligible for the IBPS Mains Exam 2026, scheduled for October 4, 2026. With a total of 7,565 vacancies across 11 public sector banks, IBPS PO recruitment 2026 has been a great opportunity for candidates to secure a stable job across banks.
How To Download IBPS PO Prelims Result 2026?
Once the official link becomes active, candidates can follow the given steps to download their scorecards from the official portal.
Step 1: Visit the IBPS official website at ibps.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, open the CRP PO/MT section and select the “ IBPS PO Prelims Result 2026” link.
Step 3: The login tab will open. Enter your registration details as mentioned on the IBPS PO Prelims admit card.
Step 4: Fill in the captcha code and submit the details.
Step 5: The admit card will open on the screen.
Step 6: Download it and check your qualifying status.
How Are Results Prepared Using Official Marking Scheme?
Candidates’ answer sheets will be calculated using the official marking scheme. The Prelims consist of 100 MCQ-based questions covering Mathematics, English, and Reasoning sections. For each correct answer, +1 mark will be awarded. However, there will also be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. Unanswered questions will not be awarded any marks.
Total Marks = (Correct Answers x 1) - (Incorrect Responses x 0.25)
IBPS PO Mains Exam 2026 On October 4
After the declaration of the prelims result, candidates who qualify will proceed to the Mains Examination, scheduled for October 4, 2026. The exam will have a 200-mark objective test followed by a 25-mark descriptive test. Objective questions will be asked from four sections: Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, English Language, and General/Banking Awareness.
However, the descriptive section will mainly focus on writing skills. Additionally, a penalty of 0.25 marks is deducted for every incorrect response. Candidates qualifying the Mains will be called for the Interview and Document Verification.
