JE Education Desk: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has requested that by October 20th, all medical colleges submit the information regarding every student admitted to the first-year MBBS program for the academic year 2023–2024. The commission has specified the information that the college must disclose to the students and the colleges.

NMC advised colleges that the National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test (NEET)-based selection process announced under the Graduate Medical Education Regulations 2023 must be followed for MBBS admissions 2023.

The panel listed the rules that universities must follow for admissions, including the maximum number of students they can accept, the age and grade requirements, common counselling, and more.

Additionally, colleges must input information regarding MBBS students, such as seat entry, college type, minority status, name of the counselling session, seat matrix, and consent agreement in the case of private colleges. Additionally, the NMC requested that universities post information about accepted students in the style supplied on their websites.

According to NMC, colleges must disclose the following information regarding students:

- NEET UG 2023 roll number

- Category (All India quota/State government or UT Administrationquota/ Management quota/ NRI quota/Others)

- Date of Admission in dd/mm/ yyyy format

- Marks obtained or maximum marks in PCB (10+2)

- Marks obtained or maximum marks in English (10+2)

- Marks obtained or maximum marks in the PCB entrance exam (NEET) and percentile

- Fees charged from students annually ( amount in rupees )

“In order to effectively monitor that all MBBS admissions made are in conformity with the requirement of regulations, an online monitoring system has been launched by the commission. This initiative is made with the objective of ensuring faithful adherence to the norms of admission laid down in regulations as also to promote transparency and accountability in medical education,” NMC said in an official notice.

“The onus of furnishing true, correct and authentic information is upon the college concerned. The Commission shall initiate action as is permissible in law, if it is notified that wrong/incorrect information has been provided by the college authorities,” NMC added.
