Odisha Schools Closed: All the primary, upper primary, high school, and anganwadi centre will be closed tomorrow, December 6, 2023, due to the possibility of heavy rains brought on by Cyclonic Storm Michaung over the Bay of Bengal.
"In view of possible heavy rainfall due to cyclonic storm Michaung over the Bay of Bengal, all the primary, upper primary, high school and anganwadi centre shall remain closed on 6th December 2023," reads the official notification.

A yellow warning for heavy rain has been issued by the IMD for specific locations. On December 6, the alert includes one or two locations in the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, and Rayagada. Fishermen are advised not to go into the deep sea along and off the Odisha coast from December 4 to 6.
Schools Closed Today In Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu Due To Cyclone Michaung
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu's four districts, including Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu Districts, and Krishna and NTR districts of Andhra Pradesh schools, will be closed today, December 5, 2023. Due to the Cyclonic Storm 'Michaung', all schools, colleges, educational institutions, and government offices including the Offices of Public Undertakings/ Corporations, Boards, Banks, and Financial Institutions in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpattu Districts, will be closed today.
