Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) CEO Priya Nair: Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) has announced Priya Nair as the company’s next Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, marking a historic and iconic win in the company’s 92-year journey. She is the first woman who became the first woman CEO (Chief Operating Officer) Of the Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL).
Early Beginnings & Educational Qualifications
Priya was born in Kolhapur to Malayalee parents but she was raised and educated in Mumbai. She completed her higher education from Sydenham College, Mumbai and earned B.Com in Accounts & Statistics. She completed her MBA degree in Marketing from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune. She later also attended a management program conducted at Harvard Business School.
Priya Nair's Career Beginnings:
In 1995, she was a part of Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) and worked as a Consumer Insights Manager. In the year 1998, she became Brand Manager for popular brands like Dove, Rin, and Comfort. By 2004, she was Marketing Manager. She handled the position of the General Manager in 2007. In 2009, she became General Manager, overseeing Hindustan Unilever Ltd ‘s western region, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Priya Nair served as an Executive Director and CCVP (Customer Development, Consumer & Market Insight, Vice President) for Home Care and Beauty Care in countries like South Asia. In 2022, she was appointed as the Global Chief Marketing Officer for Beauty & Wellbeing. In the year 2023, she was elevated to the position of President, Beauty & Wellbeing, overseeing a Euro 12 billion (Rs 1.08 lakh crore) global portfolio.
Ms Nair has served the position of the Independent Director on the board of a listed Indian company or organisations, a board member of ASCI, and taken part in several public-private partnerships. She has also led industry forums such as MMA India.
