Both exams will cover the entire syllabus, and a student’s better performance in the two attempts will be considered as the final result. This initiative aims to reduce exam stress, provide flexibility, and promote consistent learning throughout the year.

Exam Schedule and Structure: First Attempt Compulsory, Second Optional

As per reports, the first RBSE exam will be held in February–March, while the second will take place between May–June. All students must appear for the first exam, whereas the second attempt is optional, allowing students to improve their marks in specific subjects.

Evaluation System and Inspiration from CBSE’s Model

RBSE confirmed that both exams will follow the same syllabus and evaluation pattern. For those taking the optional exam, the higher score from the two will be considered final. This decision is inspired by the CBSE’s two-session examination system, which also allows students to appear twice in one academic year with their best score counted.
