School Holiday Today Live Updates: Schools have been closed in many states to ensure the safety of students due to rains and floods. Some schools in Jammu will reopen on September 10. Schools in Amritsar will remain closed today i.e. September 8 due to severe floods in Punjab. Schools will reopen on September 9 except for some special areas. .

According to the  Meteorological Department, heavy rains are expected in Dungarpur, Banswara, Rajsamand, Salumber, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Pali and Phalodi in Rajasthan. Very heavy rains are expected in Sirohi, Barmer, Balotra, Jaisalmer and Jalore. Due to rain, holiday has been declared in three districts Udaipur, Jalore and Dungarpur on September 8.
