In this situation, District Collector Satish has announced a holiday for schools only in Dharmapuri district today (October 23) due to heavy rains. He has said that schools and anganwadis will not function. The Dharmapuri Collector has said that schools will function on November 15 to compensate for this holiday.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for several Kerala districts, including Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, and others. Earlier red alerts for Idukki, Palakkad, and Malappuram were downgraded. As a precautionary measure, the Kerala government may announce a holiday for tomorrow due to heavy rainfall.
