School Holiday Latest Updates:  Uttar Pradesh is experiencing severe cold and dense fog. In light of this, the state government has extended school holidays. Schools for students from nursery to class 8 will now remain closed until January 15, 2026. Schools for classes 9 to 12 will remain closed until January 5, 2026. This decision applies to all schools in the state, including those affiliated with ICSE, CBSE, and the UP Board. Any school that fails to comply with this order will face action for violating the regulations.

Punjab School Holidays Extended:

Due to the increasing cold wave in Punjab, the holidays for all schools have been extended. All private, government, aided, and recognised schools will now reopen on January 8, 2026. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains made this announcement.

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains posted on X (formerly Twitter) regarding this, writing, "As per the instructions of Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Singh Mann, keeping in mind the health and safety of children and staff due to the continuously increasing cold and fog in the state, holidays are being extended until January 7th for all government, aided, recognized, and private schools in the state. All schools in the state will now reopen as usual from January 8, 2026."

Rajasthan School Closure Updates:

Due to the cold wave in Rajasthan, schools will remain closed until January 5th. In Jaipur, the District Collector has announced holidays for Anganwadi centres from January 2nd to January 10, 2026.

Besides Rajasthan, in the Kashmir Valley, all pre-primary classes will be closed from November 26th to February 28, 2026; classes 1 to 8 will be closed from December 1st to February 28th, 2026, and classes 9 to 12 will begin on December 11, 2026 and end on February 22, 2026.
