SSC CGL Tier 1 2025 Exam: The Staff Selection Commission commenced the SSC Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL) Tier-1 Examination 2025 today, September 12, 2025 in online mode. According to the official data, over 28 lakh candidates have applied for the SSC CGL Tier 1 Examination 2025 examination this year. The examination will be a computer-based test. This examination is conducted every year for recruiting individuals in Group B and C positions in the Central Government.
The Staff Selection Commission's Chairman Gopalakrishnan S has extended his wishes to candidates who are appearing for the examination and wished them good luck.
He further mentioned that a dedicated feedback portal has been launched for students to share their feedback and examination experience directly to the Staff Selection Commission, which is accessible through the candidate portal on ssc.gov.in.
SSC CGL Tier 1 2025 Examination Details:
The examination will be conducted under September 26, 2025 across 260 exam centres in 129 cities. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 14,582 vacancies in the departments of government. The Tier-1 examination is being conducted in four shifts daily: 9:00-10:00 AM, 11:45 AM-12:45 PM, 2:30-3:30 PM, and, at select centres, 5:15-6:15 PM.
The position for the recruitment drive of the SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam 2025 will be divided into categories. A total of 6,183 are reserved for the General category, 3,721 reserved for OBC, 2,167 reserved for SC, 1,088 reserved for ST, and 1,423 reserved for EWS candidates.
For the first time in the history, the Staff Selection Commission is also conducting the examination on laptops at several selected centres in Kolkata. This initiative is aimed at enhancing flexibility in exam conduction and is expected to pave the way for CGLE and other Tier-2 examinations to be conducted in a single shift later this year.
In a fair, transparent, and secure manner, the Chairperson said that ‘All candidates are advised to strictly follow the instructions mentioned in their Admit Card and at the Examination Centres. If any student is found out doing any form of malpractice, impersonation, or violation of examination rules will be disqualified from the examination.
