SSC Stenographer Registration 2024: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has begun the SSC stenographer registration procedure to fill about 2,006 vacancies. The SSC stenographer test is tentatively planned to take place in October-November. Applicants with stenography skills can apply for the jobs on the official website of SSC at ssc.gov.in. A computer-based test (CBT) will be administered for recruiting.
The deadline to apply for SSC Stenographer is August 17 at 11 p.m. Applicants will be charged Rs 100 as a registration fee. Female applicants and those from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) are excused from paying the fee.
The official notification reads, "The Staff Selection Commission will hold an Open Competitive Computer Based Examination for direct recruitment to the posts of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ (Group ‘B’, NonGazetted) and Stenographer Grade ‘D’ (Group ‘C’) in various Ministries/Departments/Organizations including their Attached offices, Subordinate offices and Statutory bodies of the Government of India located in various States and Union Territories. Only those candidates who have skills in stenography are eligible to apply."
The online gateway for paying the registration fee will conclude at 11 p.m. on August 18, and the opportunity for making corrections to the submitted application form will open on August 27.

SSC Stenographer 2024: Schedule
The SSC Stenographer CBT exam will only include objective-type questions. The questions will be presented in both English and Hindi. Each incorrect answer will result in a 0.25-mark deduction. Here is the whole schedule for the SSC Stenographer test 2024.

SSC Stenographer 2024: How to apply?
Registration (OTR) on the new website, ssc.gov.in, as the old SSC website, ssc.nic.in, is no longer functional. Following the OTR, candidates must apply for the test.
“Once an OTR has been generated on the new website, it will continue to remain valid for all the examinations to be applied for on the new website,” the notification reads.
When applying, candidates must include a scanned image of their signature in JPEG or JPG format with a file size of 10 to 20 KB. The image dimension of the signature should be around 6.0 cm (width) × 2.0 cm (height).
“Applications with inappropriate photographs or blurred/ miniature photographs or signatures, not meeting the above requirements, will be rejected summarily,” it further added.
