Tamil Nadu School Closed: Due to the state's heavy rainfall, the Vellore district government has ordered all schools to close classes 1 to 5. On Wednesday, rain pelted numerous Tamil Nadu districts. All schools in the Vellore district have been ordered to suspend classes on September 21 for Classes 1 through 5.
“Waterlogging was witnessed at Chennai-Bengaluru National Highway in Konavattam due to heavy rainfall in Vellore. District Administration has suspended classes for std 1-5 in all schools of the district due to the rainfall,” the ANI reported.

On September 21 and 22, Tamil Nadu may have light to moderate rainfall in some areas, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

“Light to moderate #rain with one or two intense spells may occur over Northeast India, coastal Karnataka, Lakshadweep, and Uttarakhand. Scattered light to moderate rain is possible over Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, West Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka,” SkyMet weather predicted.
Due to heavy rains in June, the state ordered a holiday for schools in Vellore, Ranipet, Chengalpet, and the surrounding districts of Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, and Chennai.
