Tomorrow School Holiday (Thursday):  School holiday updates for Thursday, November 27, 2025, are crucial for students due to rising air pollution levels, festivals, and a low-pressure system in West Bengal. Many states and union territories are bracing for inclement weather, rising pollution levels, and local festivals. The situation is particularly critical in the southern coastal districts due to the IMD's forecast of a new cyclone.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal could intensify into Cyclone Senyar around November 27, 2025.

What to Expect on November 27th?

Southern states: Schools may be closed in coastal districts affected by the cyclone.

Delhi-NCR: School holidays have not yet been announced, but pollution restrictions remain in place.

UP: Winter holidays have already been scheduled and confirmed.

Tamil Nadu Holiday Watch: Will schools be closed tomorrow?

Due to a moderate to heavy rainfall alert in Chennai and adjoining areas, schools in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Pudukkottai, and Thanjavur are likely to be closed on Wednesday, November 26. Meanwhile, students are requested to be in touch with the school authority.

Local businesses and shops in areas with heavy rainfall may also close early depending on the situation.

Delhi Pollution Crisis: AQI in 'Severe' Category

Air quality levels in the national capital remain 'severe', prompting further restrictions under GRAP Stage 3: All government and private offices in Delhi have been asked to operate with 50 Per cent staff strength, with others following work-from-home guidelines.

Winter Vacations Announced in Uttar Pradesh:

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the earliest and longest winter vacations this year for all government and private schools. Students will get a 12-day holiday from December 20 to 31, 2025, while PM Shree Schools will remain closed from December 23, 2025, to January 1, 2026. The extended break is due to severe cold conditions and rising pollution levels across the state.
