School Holiday Updates (Monday): It is known that children in Telugu states have Sankranti holidays till today. The Sankranti holidays will conclude today, and schools will reopen normally from tomorrow. In this order, since there is a holiday in some states tomorrow as well.. this news.. will be good news for children.

The Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana observe Sankranti holidays to this day. Schools will resume as usual from tomorrow. In both states, the governments have declared holidays for schools and college students only till January 18. 

On the other hand, in all the states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, etc., schools will be operating normally from tomorrow. In this sequence, one state is giving good news to the children.

School Status for Monday, January 19, 2026:

reopen tomorrow after an extended 9-day Sankranti break that began on January 10.

Telangana: Schools officially resumed regular classes on Saturday, January 17, after their festive holidays were extended through January 16. They will remain open tomorrow, though some private institutions may have extended breaks until Monday.

Tamil Nadu: Following the 4-day Pongal holiday period (January 14–17) and the Sunday break, all schools are expected to resume regular operations tomorrow, Monday, January 19.

Karnataka: Schools in Karnataka have been following a regular academic schedule as there were no major state-wide festival holidays or weather-related closures scheduled for this mid-January period.

Kerala: Educational institutions in Kerala are functioning on their normal schedules. The state did not observe extended Sankranti holidays, and no weather alerts currently necessitate closures.
