JE Education Desk: The Aadhar Card numbers should not be printed on the degrees and diplomas that are given to students, according to a directive from the University Grants Commission (UGC). The UGC has reminded Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of the Unique Identification Authority of India's regulations and requested that they refrain from printing the whole Aadhaar card number on a student's diploma. The official website, ugc.gov.in, is where stakeholders can check the UGC Notification.

Making the personal student database public is prohibited, according to UGC. The UGC regulations must be followed by all HEIs.

In 2017, the UGC requested that universities incorporate the Aadhar numbers and student pictures in the degrees and awards they grant. The action was taken to bring uniformity and transparency throughout the nation's higher education sector.
