UGC NET Exam Dates Rescheduled:  The National Testing Agency (NTA) has rescheduled the UGC-NET exam initially planned for August 26, 2024, to the next day, August 27, 2024. This change has been made due to Krishna Janmashtami. The rest of the exam dates will remain unchanged according to the previous date sheet.

"On account of Shri Krishna Janmashtami on 26th August 2024, National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to reschedule the Examination of 26th August 2024. The exam scheduled for August 26, 2024, will be held on August 27, 2024," reads the notification.

According to the schedule, the UGC NET June 2024 will begin on August 21 and will conclude on September 4, 2024 it will cover 83 subjects. The exam initially set for August 26 has been rescheduled to August 27. This change affects the UGC NET exams for Philosophy and Hindi, which were to be held in the first shift, as well as the exams for Hindi, Oriya, Nepali, Manipuri, Assamese, and Santali, which were to be held in the second shift. 

As many as 11, 21, 225 candidates registered for the UGC NET June exam. Out of these, 9,08,580 appeared for the exam conducted on June 18, which was later canceled due to concerns about its integrity.

Earlier, the NTA released the advance city intimation slips for the University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) scheduled for August 21, 22, and 23, 2024. Registered candidates can visit the official UGC-NET website to download their city intimation slips. To access the slips, applicants will need to use their login credentials, including their application number and date of birth.

This national-level exam, conducted twice a year, determines candidates' eligibility for the positions of Assistant Professor or for both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor roles in Indian universities and colleges.
