UGC NET 2026 Provisional Answer Key:  The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the provisional answer key and response sheets for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2026 session during the second or third week of July 2026. While no official date has yet been announced, the answer key is anticipated after the conclusion of the examination process on July 5, 2026.

The PDF will be available at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Using both the PDFs, candidates can verify their marked answers and evaluate their performance before the final result declaration.

UGC NET 2026 Provisional Answer Key: Steps To Download

Candidates can use the following steps to download the answer key once released. 

Step 1: Go to the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, select the “UGC NET Answer Key 2026” link.

Step 3: Enter your application number, date of birth, and security code to log in.

Step 4: After submitting the details, the answer key PDF will appear on the screen.

Step 5: Download it and cross-check your answers. 

UGC NET June Objection Window 2026

The agency will also open the objection window along with the answer key PDFs. After comparing the answers with the response sheets, if candidates find discrepancies, they can challenge the provisional answer key. While submitting the objections, they are required to attach supporting documents and pay the objection fee of Rs 200 per challenge through the official website. Once all queries are resolved, NTA will release the final answer key. Based on it, the results will be prepared. 

How To Calculate Marks?

The marking scheme is explained below. Using this, candidates can calculate their expected marks.

1. 2 marks will be awarded for each correct answer.

2. There will be no negative marking.

3. Unanswered questions will not get any marks.

Total Marks = Number of correct answers x 2

UGC NET June Examination 2026 was held from June 22 to 30, 2026, for 87 subjects in CBT mode. The test evaluates candidates’ eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), appointment as Assistant Professor, and admission to PhD programmes across universities.
