UGC NET result 2024 Expected Soon: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the UGC NET 2024 results soon. Applicants who took the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) in June 2024 can check their results on the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
The UGC NET June 2024 result will be announced for over 9 lakh students who took the exams between August 21 and September 4.
UGC NET 2024 results will be created using the UGC NET final answer key 2024. The tentative answer key was released on September 11. The UGC NET answer key 2024 aroused outrage after applicants claimed mistakes in the history answer key.
The June edition of the UGC NET test was first held on June 18 in a single shift, however, it was cancelled due to an alleged paper leak on Darknet. The Ministry of Education confirmed the cancellation of the exam due to a probable "compromise" in the test's integrity. Later, the testing agency issued the revised exam dates.
NTA UGC NET Result 2024: Normalization process
For papers administered in different shifts, the NTA employs a score normalization mechanism to reduce the variation in difficulty level between the numerous question papers tried by students. The normalization approach converts applicants' raw scores into percentile values. Normalized scores are based on the relative performance of every applicant who took the exam. To eliminate bunching and reduce the probability of ties, the percentile score will be calculated to seven decimal places.
A step-by-step technique for normalization and result preparation is provided below.
Step 1: Distribution of examinees in two shifts
Applicants will be randomly assigned to two sessions with approximately equal numbers of students. The two sessions will go as follows:
- Session 1: Day 1, shift 1
- Session 2: Day 1, shift 2
Step 2: Preparation of results for each session
The UGC NET exam results for each session will be prepared in the following format:
- Raw scores
- Percentile scores of total raw scores
The percentile score of an applicant is computed as follows:
100 times the number of applicants who appeared in the 'Session' with a raw score equal to or less than the applicant's divided by the total number of candidates who appeared in the 'Session.'
Step 3: Compilation of NTA score and result preparation
The percentile score for the total raw score for all sessions will be amalgamated and referred to as NTA scores, which will then be utilized to prepare results.
