UP Schools Closed: Several districts in Uttar Pradesh have announced winter vacations and revised times for classes due to dense fog and extremely cold weather.
Winter vacations have been announced for schools in Banaras and Firozabad districts in Uttar Pradesh. In Kashi, schools for students from classes 1 to 8 will remain closed until January 6, 2024, while in Firozabad, the schools will remain shut until January 14, 2024.
According to the recent updates, the prevailing cold wave in Agra has extended holidays by an additional two days. As per the DM's directive, leave has been granted until January 2. Schools in Agra will resume classes for all grades on January 3.
Several schools across the state have transitioned to online classes instead of announcing a holiday. Students and parents are advised to stay in touch with school administrations for ongoing updates regarding the reopening of schools.

Uttar Pradesh Winter Vacation 2023
The Uttar Pradesh government has declared winter vacation from January 1 to 15. However, various districts have made specific adjustments to school schedules. In Mathura, classes will now run from 10 am to 3 pm. Similarly, in Ghaziabad, school timings have been shifted to 10 am to 3 pm. In Kashi and Firozabad, schools up to class 8 remain closed. While schools in Noida were closed until today, there hasn't been any update regarding an extension yet.
The weather department has issued dense fog warnings for several northern states, including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, North Rajasthan, and North Madhya Pradesh. Citizens are urged to exercise caution while driving and to use fog lights for safety.
