UPPSC Prelims Exam News: Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) on Thursday postponed the prelims exam for Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services. The exam was scheduled to be held on March 17. According to the notification, now the UPPSC 2024 prelims exam is expected to be conducted in July 2024.
"With reference to advertisement number A-1/E-1/2024 dated January 1, 2024, it is hereby informed that the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination (PCS) prelims exam 2024 scheduled for March 17 has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. The exam is expected to be conducted in July. A separate notice in this regard will be shared in due course of time," reads the notification.
According to the notification, the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination (PCS) exam 2024 has been postponed due to unknown reasons. Now, the UPPSC PCS prelims 2024 exam is expected to be held in July 2024. However, the commission has not yet announced the exact date for the exam. Further information regarding the UPPSC 2024 Prelims new exam date will be provided in due course of time.
Once the UPPSC 2024 Prelims exam date is announced, the admit card will be released. Candidates are advised to keep checking the UPPSC official website for the latest updates.

UPPSC 2024 Prelims Exam Pattern
The UPPSC PCS 2024 prelims examination will comprise two papers: General Studies Paper 1 and General Studies Paper 2, each carrying 200 marks. The duration of the exam will be two hours, conducted offline. Both papers consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions. Paper 1 will contain approximately 150 to 100 questions, which will be considered for merit ranking. Paper 2 serves as a qualifying paper, with candidates required to secure a minimum of 33 per cent marks to pass. Moreover, there will be a 0.33 percent negative marking for each incorrect answer.
