UPPSC RO ARO Exam: The Uttar Pradesh Staff Selection Commission (UPPSC) delayed the Review Officer-Assistant Review Officer (RO ARO) exam, scheduled for December 22 and 23. The commission will publish the new exam date after it receives the report of the newly established committee. The release comes after applicants protested over the exam's many shifts and normalisation.

In response to 10,76,004 applications for the UPPSC RO ARO Prelims exam, the state commission created a panel to investigate and analyze data and write an analysis to guarantee a transparent and fair selection process.

Now, UPPSC has announced that the committee will be led by Kalp Raj Singh, the most senior member, and will comprise UPPSC member Ram Pyare, retired IAS Yogesh Kumar Shukla, and former PCS Prem Prakash Pal.

“The examination in question, which was to be held in three shifts on December 22 and 23, 2024, has been postponed. On receiving the report of the committee, the commission will inform about the further date of examination as soon as possible after due consideration of all the relevant aspects,” UPPSC said in an official notice.

Protests Against UPPSC Exam Schedule

Several applicants organized days of protests against the commission's plan to hold the recruiting exam in three shifts. Protesters chanted chants and carried posters proclaiming the 'one day, one shift' exam.

UPPSC declared that the RO ARO test will be conducted in three shifts over two days, by the provision for holding an exam in multiple shifts if the number of examinees exceeds 5 lahks in a shift. Furthermore, the decision was made due to a lack of examination centres to accommodate all participants.

It also announced the normalisation procedure to be used for objective-type tests administered in two or more shifts. The commission organized a high-level expert team to propose the assessment method.
