UPSC CSE Prelims 2025: The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2025 is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on May 25, 2025 at multiple examination centres. The UPSC CSE prelims examination will be conducted in two different shifts — first shift will take place from 9.30 am to 11: 30 am and the next shift will take place from 2.30 pm to 4: 30 pm.
Those candidates who are appearing for the UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 Exam are advised to reach the exam centres at least 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the Exam. UPSC aspirants are required to carry the hard copies of the CSE prelims admit cards, hall tickets and a black ballpoint pen to the exam centre. To ensure a smooth UPSC examination experience, candidates must strictly follow the exam instructions.
What Pen to Use in UPSC CSE Prelims 2025?
The UPSC aspirants must note down taht they only ahve to usea ball-point black pen to fill the OMR sheets. If a candiadte is using other pens or anything it will lead to teh disqualification of that candiadtse from the UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2025.
UPSC CSE Exam 2025: Key documents to carry
1. Candidates must carry their E-Admit card (Printout): It is mandatory for all the candidates to carry their hall tickets otherwise candidates will not be permitted to sit for the exam.
2. Valid ID Proof: The candidates must carry their valid ID proof to the examination centre and ID must match the details provided in the hall ticket.
3. Photographs (If necessary): The candidates whose photograph is unclear on the hall ticket are advised to carry their passport size photographs to the exam centre, one for each session – along with an undertaking.
4. Black Ballpoint Pen: The UPSC aspirants must carry a black ballpoint pen to write their UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 exam.
5. Simple Wrist Watch: The UPSC aspirants are allowed to carry a simple watch to the exam centre, note no smart watches are allowed to take inside the examination centres.
UPSC CSE Prelims 2025: Avoid these banned items
1. Handbags, bags or any luggage
2. Expensive and valuable items
3. Mobile phones (even switched off)
4. Any digital device such as smart watches are prohibited
5. No notes, books or any printed material is allowed
6. Any watch with a special feature or digital capability
Morning Shift: 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Afternoon Shift: 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
In case of any error or discrepancy in candidate's details and information (name, photograph, QR code, etc.) in the hall ticket, the same must be immediately reported to the Commission by email- uscsp-upsc@nic.in.
