Uttar Pradesh School Holiday Tomorrow: Classes 1 To 8 To Remain Closed In THIS District On Sept 7 Due To Heavy Rain

Bareilly district administration has announced a one-day holiday for all schools from Classes 1 to 8 on Monday amid continuous heavy rainfall and forecasts of more showers. The order, issued on the directions of the District Magistrate, applies to schools affiliated with all major boards, including UP Board, CBSE and ICSE, as well as government-aided and recognised institutions.

Classes 1 To 8 Schools To Remain Closed

According to the order issued by the District Basic Education Officer (BSA) Dr Vinita on Sunday evening, all schools catering to students from Classes 1 to 8 will remain closed on Monday.

The holiday will apply uniformly across Bareilly district. It includes council-run primary and upper-primary schools, government-aided institutions and recognised private schools.

Holiday Announced Due To Heavy Rainfall

The decision has been taken considering the safety of young students amid heavy rainfall and waterlogging in several parts of the city and district.

School authorities have been directed to strictly comply with the holiday order. Officials have also asked Block Education Officers to ensure that the instructions are implemented across their respective areas.

Bareilly Records 134.3 mm Rainfall In Six Hours

Bareilly witnessed intense rainfall on Sunday, with around 134.3 mm of rain recorded by 8 pm, according to the report. The downpour caused waterlogging in several low-lying areas and disrupted normal life.

The rainfall occurred amid a Yellow Alert issued by the weather department. According to the report, this was the highest single-day rainfall recorded during the current monsoon season in the district.

More Rain Expected On Monday

Weather experts have forecast more rainfall in Bareilly and surrounding areas on Monday. According to the latest IMD update cited in the report, several parts of the region may receive further heavy showers.

The change in weather has been linked to an active low-pressure area over western Uttar Pradesh and adjoining regions. The district recorded a maximum temperature of 30.6°C and a minimum of 24.7°C on Sunday.
