The Basic Education Department in Uttar Pradesh has scheduled quarterly assessments for students in its schools. These assessments will be conducted from September 11 to 16 and will be based on the learning outcomes achieved through the Saral App. The evaluation will focus on the students' knowledge levels in language and mathematics for classes 1 to 5, and mathematics and science for classes 6 to 8.

To facilitate this process, the state project office is overseeing the printing of question papers and OMR sheets, which are being carried out through the GeM portal. The selected printers will supply these question papers and OMR sheets to the respective districts, where they will then be distributed to the schools.

For students in classes 1 to 3, there will be one question paper provided for every five children. However, for students in classes 4 to 8, each student will receive their own question paper. Ensuring the integrity of the examination process falls under the responsibility of the Basic Education Officer (BEO), Block Education Officer, and District Coordinator (Training).

As per Praveen Kumar Tiwari, BSA in Prayagraj, the assessment process for students in classes 1 to 3 will involve teachers asking questions directly from the question paper during interviews. Teachers will record the student's responses and then proceed to fill out the OMR sheets using a black ball pen. If a question receives no response, the corresponding circles on the OMR sheet will be left blank. Subsequently, the OMR sheets will be scanned using the Saral app. The examination is set to have a duration of one hour and 30 minutes, with the scanning process expected to be completed by teachers within an hour.

For students in classes 4 to 8, the students themselves will be responsible for filling out the OMR sheets. Each student will need to fill a nine-digit student ID on the sheet.
