The Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the Vidyanjali Scholarship Programme on Tuesday, February 6 at the Rang Bhawan, All India Radio, Sansad Marg, New Delhi. The program was started to enhance education by involving the community and private sector in educational institutions around the nation.

“Delighted to launch the Vidyanjali Scholarship Program. Heartwarming to see our corporate enthusiastically coming forward to support and sponsor academically gifted and meritorious students lacking financial means to pursue education. Nation-building is a collective effort of all citizens. As envisioned in the National Education Policy 2020, Vidyanjali Scholarship Program symbolises a whole-of-society approach to empowerment through access and opportunities of education, particularly to students belonging to economically disadvantaged sections,” Dharmendra Pradhan tweeted on official X handle.

During the launch event, Dharmendra Pradhan stated that the portal can be used by over 34,000 students who complete their studies at Navodaya Vidyalayas each year to obtain funds for higher education. Through this platform, students from tier 1, 2, and 3 cities throughout 650 Navodaya Vidyalaya in 638 districts can register and apply for scholarships. It would also provide transparency for funders to distribute and manage their CST contributions.
