West Bengal 10th Topper List 2024: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education released the WBBSE Madhyamik Toppers List 2024. Rank 1: Chandrachur Sen, Cooch Behar of Rambhola High School with a score of 693 marks or 99 per cent

Rank 2: Samyapriya Guru, Purulia of Purulia District School with a score of 692 or 98.86 per cent

Rank 3: South Dinajpur's Udayan Prasad, Birbhum's Pushpita Basuri, South 24 Parganas, Nairit Ranjan Pal. They scored 691 marks or 98.71 per cent

Rank 4: Tapajyoti Mandal of Hooghly with a score of 690 marks or 98.57 per cent

Rank 5: Arghyadip Basak of North Bardhaman with a score of 689 or 98.43 per cent

Rank 6: Trishanu Saha with a score of 688 or 98.29 per cent

WBBSE Madhyamik Toppers List 2024: Almost 60 Students in the Top 10

A total of 57 candidates have secured positions in the top ten. The distribution by district in the merit list is as follows: South 24 Parganas - 8 candidates, South Dinajpur - 7 candidates, East Burdwan - 7 candidates, East Medinipur - 7 candidates, Bankura - 4 candidates, Malda - 4 candidates, West Medinipur - 4 candidates, Nadia - 2 candidates, Jhargram - 1 candidate, Kolkata - 1 candidate, Birbhum - 3 candidates, North 24 Parganas - 2 candidates, and North Dinajpur - 1 candidate.

This year, the overall pass percentage stood at 86.15 percent, with girls surpassing boys in performance. A total of 1,18,411 students have been placed in the first division, accounting for 12.98 per cent of the total students.

According to the WBBSE Madhyamik Result 2024 statistics, there was a 25.59% increase in the number of girls taking the exams compared to boys. Specifically, 5,08,698 girls and 4,03,900 boys appeared for the class 10 exams.

The WBBSE administered the Madhyamik board exams for the year 2024, spanning from February 2 to February 12, 2024, with an approximate registration of 8 lakh students for the examination.

In the previous year, the overall pass percentage was recorded at 86.15 per cent, showing a slight decrease from 86.60 per cent in 2022. Among the districts, East Midnapore secured the highest pass percentage for WB Class 10th with 96.81 per cent, followed by Kalimpong with 94.13 per cent, and Kolkata with 93.75 per cent.

In 2023, a total of 118 students were in the top 10 ranks. These students were from 16 districts: Malda- 21, North Bardhaman- 17, Bankura- 14, and South 24 Pargana- 12. In the WB Class 10 Madhyamik result, Devadutta Majhi from North Bardhaman secured rank 1 with 99.57 per cent. Devadutta Majhi scored a total of 697 marks. Subham Pal from North Bardhaman and Rifat Hassan Sircar, Ramkrishna Mission Vivekananda Vidya Mandir from Malda secured Rank 2 in the WBBSE Madhyamik result 2023.
