Winter Vacation 2023: The Haryana chief minister's office has stated that the state's winter break would begin on January 1, 2024. The information on the X was provided by the CMO. The winter vacation will last 15 days and will conclude on January 15, 2024. The CMO has asked the schools to ensure that the schedule is followed.
“In the context of the above subject, you are informed that winter vacation is declared in all government and private schools of the state from January 1, 2024, to January 15, 2024. Schools will be reopened from January 16, 2024 (Tuesday),” the CMO’s X post said.

Winter Vacation 2023: State-wise school holidays
Jharkhand
Due to the state's cold wave-like conditions, all government and private schools in Jharkhand will be closed from December 26 to 31, 2023.
“In view of the increasing effect of the cold wave in the state, all categories of government, non-government aided/unaided including minority schools and all private schools running in the state will remain closed from December 26 to December 31,” according to a notification of the school education and literacy department, news agency PTI reported.

“Keeping in mind the secondary and higher secondary board examinations, the concerned schools may conduct classes from classes 10 to 12 as per the requirement,” it further added.
Delhi and Rajasthan
The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has announced that winter vacation will begin in state schools on December 25, 2023. Meanwhile, winter vacation in Delhi has been shortened from 15 to 6 days and will begin on January 1, 2024.
Jammu and Kashmir
According to media reports, the Jammu and Kashmir administration is also "seriously" considering winter break for schools in the valley due to minimum temperatures plunging below freezing for the last three days.
