World Students Day 2025: The World Students’ Day is celebrated on October 15 every year. This day is celebrated as the  birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the 11th President of India and one of the most influential personalities. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was a dedicated educator and a renowned aerospace scientist, he has made significant contributions in the educational department. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is popularly known as the ‘Missile Man of India’. 

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was born in 1931 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. His contributions to India's space and missile programs will be remembered for life, earning him one of the most iconic titles ‘Missile Man of India.’ His deep commitment to provide quality education to the students led to the establishment of the World Students Day 2025.

World Students Day: History

The United Kingdom announced October 15 as a World Students Day to celebrate the legacy of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. This day was declared by the United Nations in the year 2010 as a tribute to Dr. Kalam, who was deeply dedicated to students and transforming the educational system of India. He made notable contributions in the field of the science and technology, missile and space research industry and put his heart in motivating the students and younger generation. He frequently visited schools and universities to educate students and offered insights on various topics.  

World Students Day: Significance

World Students Day is celebrated for several reasons. It marks the birth anniversary of the most influential educators, renowned aerospace scientist and 11th President of India. The celebration aims to inspire students, children and emphasise the important role of education in personal growth and societal advancement of an individual. This day is dedicated to students, they can share their problems and shortcomings they are facing in their education system.

Abdul Kalam.

The World Students Day is celebrated through various ways such as several educational workshops organised for students, various workshops conducted on mental health, creating an awareness campaign, debates and schools competition and others. The school authorities conduct various programs to celebrate this day.
