New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Voting for the eighth and last phase of the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2021 concluded with over 76 per cent voter turnout. Shortly after the polling ends, exit polls of several exit polls conducting surveys started to come out. According to the India Today-Axis My India exit polls, the BJP and its alliances are set to retain power in Assam.
According to the exit polls of IndiaToday-Axis My India, the BJP+ is expected to win 75-85 Assembly seats of the total 126 Assembly Constituencies in the state, elections on which were conducted in three phases. The exit poll survey also predicted that Congress and its alliances are expected to win 40-50 seats.

Meanwhile, the Republic Jan Ki Baat survey also predicted that the NDA is going to retain power in Assam. The Republic Jan Ki Baat exit poll survey predicted that the NDA (BJP-led alliance) is going to win 74-84 seats while the UPA (Congress-led alliance) is expected to win 40-50 seats out of the total 126 Assembly constituencies in the state.

Other: 1-3 seats
Meanwhile, the exit poll survey conducted by ABP-C Voter shows a close competing between that the BJP-led NDA alliance and the Congress-led UPA alliance in the state. According to the exit poll results, the BJP-led alliance is predicted to win 59-71 seats, while the Congress+ is expected to win between 53-66 seats.

Congress-led UPA: 53-66 seats
BJP-led NDA: 59-71 seats
Other: 0-5 seats
In the exit poll survey conducted by Times Now-C Voter, the Congress-led alliance is expected to win 59 seats, while the BJP-led alliance is predicted to win 65 seats. Other parties are expected to win 2 seats in the state.

Assam voted in three phases on March 27, April 1 and April 6. According to the Election Commission, the polling turnouts were 79.93 per cent, 80.96 per cent and 82.33 per cent respectively.
The ruling party has contested 92 seats in alliance with the Asom Gana Parishad, which has contested 26 seats. In the opposition grand alliance, Congress has contested 94 seats, whereas Badruddin Ajmal's AIUDF has contested 14. The majority mark in Assam is 64. In the 2016 Assembly elections, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance had won 86 seats. The alliance is taking on the grand alliance of eight parties led by Congress.
