Assembly Election Results 2023: With the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) making a clean sweep in the Hindi heartland states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended his gratitude to the voters and said that the results indicated that people of India have chosen the politics of good governance and development.

“The results in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan indicate that the people of India are firmly with politics of good governance and development, which theBJP stands for. I thank the people of these states for their unwavering support and assure them that we will keep working tirelessly for their well-being,” PM Modi said.

The prime minister also thanked party workers and said that they highlighted the BJP’s development agenda among the common people.

PM Modi also thanked the people of Telangana where the Congress is set to make government with a clear majority and said that BJP’s bond with the state is ‘unbreakable’.

“My dear sisters and brothers of Telangana, Thank you for your support to theBJP. Over the last few years, this support has only been increasing and this trend will continue in the times to come. Our bond with Telangana is unbreakable and we will keep working for the people. I also appreciate the industrious efforts of each and every BJP Karyakarta,” the prime minister said.

According to the data released by the Election Commission of India (ECI) as of 5 pm, the BJP was leading in 167 out of the total 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 115 out of 119 seats in Rajasthan, and 56 out of 90 seats in Chhattisgarh. These numbers have crossed the majority mark, indicating that the BJP will be able to form government in these states. However, Congress is leading on 63 seats in Telangana.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed his gratitude towards the people of Telangana for their support. “Gratitude to Telangana people for encouraging support. Under PM Shri @narendramodi Ji’s leadership the BJP will continue to work towards the development of Telangana. With people’s support, we will certainly make Telangana a prosperous state. My heartfelt thanks to the Karyakartas of @BJP4Telangana and the State President Shri @kishanreddybjp Ji for their tireless efforts,” he wrote on X.

After the trends suggested BJP’s walkover in the three states, several ministers of the BJP attributed the victory to PM Modi and said that people have endorsed his leadership and rejected false promises of the Congress. "It is the victory of party workers, PM Modi's popularity, welfare schemes of state and central governments...I am an ordinary worker of BJP,” Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said.
